Have you ever thought what a Library of the future would be like?

With the Prospect Library and Thomas Street Centre lease ending in August 2019, there is a once in a generation opportunity for our community to collaborate in developing a bespoke innovative community hub in the heart of Prospect.

What does a CLIC look like?

City of Prospect has taken a co-design approach to developing the new facility, and the services and activities which will be available to our community. This exciting and significant project is an opportunity to deliver a community hub of the future, now. Council’s Community Reference Group has worked with the Elected Members and the architects JPE Design Studio on the design of the building. Our goal was to create a facility that is an innovative and activated space, which provides opportunities for all members of our community to visit, collaborate, engage and learn. The plans for the new facility are available here.

Where will the CLIC be located and when will it open?

The CLIC is being constructed on the site of the former Council Civic Centre as part of a co-located facility bringing together the library, gallery and digital hub, council administration and civic facilities, with the design also integrating the existing heritage-listed Town Hall. The new combined facility will open in late 2019.
