Come and visit us at the Library!

Prospect Library is currently housed in the original Nailsworth Public School building, built in 1881. It was opened as the library in 1980 by the renown late author, Colin Thiele.

In late 2019, the new library facility will open on Prospect Road. As part of the Community Hub, Library & Innovation Centre (CLIC) project, it will be located next to the Town Hall at 128 Prospect Road, Prospect.

How to Join

Membership of the Prospect Library service is available free of charge. To obtain a library card you need to provide proof of identification in the form of a photographic ID and your current address on an official document. If no photographic ID is possible, then two official documents with your current address are required to be sighted.

If you are under 18 years, signature of parent/guardian is required.

If you’d like to apply for membership and are not already a member of any SA Public Library, click on the link below and add your details. Then come into Prospect Library to sign and pick up your library card.

Our library is part of the One Card Library Network, connecting 130 public libraries throughout South Australia. You can use your library card to access items from anywhere in the State. Reserve an item and it will be delivered to your preferred library.
